Abstract
The activity of P2O5 - SiO2 catalyst by equimolecular composition, P2O 5/SiO2 = 1,0 molar ratio, activated by calcination at 800-degrees-C fo r 10 hours, was presented as function of operation parameters, in the decomposition reaction of 4,4'-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane to isoprene. In th e established reaction conditions the yield of isoprene is 82.5% moles and the selectivity 84% moles.
