Abstract
This paper presents a rapid method for the analysis of S2- ions conten t, in the polluted waters resulting from the petrochemical industry, u sing the visible absorption spectrometry. The method principle consist s in getting the methylene blue. by treating the sample with paraamino dimethylanyline in the presence of FeCl3 and by measuring the absorban ce at 660-674 nm wavelengths. The optimum operating conditions were de termined. The method is applicable to the waters having a content of 0 .02 - 20 mg S2-/l
