Abstract
We analyze phase-locking of an overdamped pendulum in the general case of all harmonics of the driving field and all frequencies. The result s show that to first order in the ac amplitude, no harmonic phase-lock ing exists. The range of phase-locking for fundamental phase-locking i s calculated and comparisons to numerical experiments show excellent a greement for all frequencies.
