H. Mullerbuschbaum et S. Frenzen, ON EUBEGD2O5 AND ON PHASES OF THE COMPOSI TION M(1-X)M'(X)BELN(2)O(5)- CA0,4SR0,6BESM2O5, BA0,25CA0,75BEND2O5 AND BA0,36SR0,64BEND2O5, Zeitschrift fur Naturforschung. B, A journal of chemical sciences, 49(7), 1994, pp. 919-922
Single crystals of (I): EuBeGd2O5, (II): Ca0,4Sr0,6BeSm2O5, (III): BA(
0,25)Ca(0,75)BeNd(2)O(5) and (IV): Ba0,36ST0,64BeNd2O5 were prepared b
y (I): plasma torch and (II)-(IV): CO2- LASER technique. X-Ray investi
gations lead to (I) monoclinic (space group C-2h(5)-P2(1)/C, a = 7.126
, b = 6.457, c = 9.394 Angstrom, beta = 90.40 degrees) and (II)-(IV) o
rthorhombic symmetry (D-2h(16)-Pnma). (II: a = 9.454, 6 = 7.142, c = 6
.490 Angstrom; III: a = 9.508, b = 7.188, c = 6.531 Angstrom; IV: a =
9.642, b = 7.295, c = 6.614 Angstrom). In contrary to the phases M(1-x
)M'(x)BeLn(2)O(5), EuBeGd2O5 is characterized by an ordered distributi
on of Eu2+ and Gd3+ inside of the Kagome network.
