Abstract
This comparative review of 65 patent policies is intended to help rese arch administrators understand the current practice and status of pate nt policies at educational institutions. The primary issues addressed are equity rights of universities, procedures for distribution of pate nt policies and disclosure of inventions, and income distribution to i nventors. Some historical perspective is included for these practices.
