Using x-ray structure analysis and optic microscopy the possibility wa
s shown for the formation of liquid-crystal order in melts of IPO (imi
de polymerization oligomers), having a similar architecture. Rheologic
studies showed that an anomaly of the melt viscosity, characterized w
ith the help of the index n in the relationship eta approximately gamm
a(-n), was observed at n = 1.0-1.2 for IPO with a similar architecture
and at n = 0.4 for those with different architecture. The rate consta
nts for the process of the buildup of viscosity of the melts at 270-de
grees-C with time are 0.7-0.35 and 0.02 min-1 respectively.
