Abstract
Synthesis of esters of 4-bromomethyl-1,3-dioxolanes has been carried o ut via interaction of 4-bromomethyl-1,3-dioxolane with malonic and eth yl acetoacetic esters under the conditions of interphase catalysis. Th e percentage ester yield under optimum conditions (dimethyl sulfoxide, 18-crown-6, K2CO3) has been determined.
