Abstract
The formation of the complex between flumequine and iron(III) chloride in the pH range 2.0-8.0 was studied. The optimum conditions for this reaction were ascertained and a spectrophotometric method was develope d at 384 nm for the determination of flumequine in the concentration r ange 5-150 mug ml-1, using iron(III) chloride as the reagent. The meth od is simple, reproducible, and accurate, and is easily applied to the determination of the drug in the pure form and in pharmaceutical prep arations. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
