Nitrofurans were extracted from animal tissues with acetonitrile and c
lean-up by solid phase extraction (SPE) procedure. For dean-up C18 col
umns were used and retained drugs were eluted with acetonitrile contai
ning 0.1 %(V/V) ammonia. The liquid chromatography (LC) separation was
carried out on a C18 analytical column using acetate buffer and aceto
nitrile as the mobile phase and a UV-VIS detector. Recoveries from spi
ked muscles were above 80 %, and detection limit was 2 ng g-1 of tissu
e.
