W. Wasiak, THERMODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPECIFIC INTERACTIONS BETWEEN ALKENES AND CHROMATOGRAPHIC PACKINGS WITH CHEMICALLY BONDED COPPER(II) COMPLEXES, Chemia Analityczna, 39(3), 1994, pp. 325-333
Measurements of retention parameters carried out for a group of hydroc
arbons enabled calculation of such thermodynamic variables as free ene
rgy of adsorption (DELTAG(a)), heat of adsorption (-DELTAH(a)) and ent
ropy of adsorption (DELTAS(a)). These parameters enabled analysis of s
pecific interaction between alkene and metal complex bonded to the sil
ica surface. In this work the packings with copper(II) complexes bonde
d to the silica surface through diphenylphosphine, thiol and cyano gro
ups, were studied. As adsorbates linear, branched, saturated and unsat
urated C6 hydrocarbons were chosen. The packings without bonded metal
were used as references.
