Z. Marczenko et N. Obarski, SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF PALLADIUM AND PLATINUM AS IODIDE COMPLEXES USING 3RD-ORDER DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY, Chemia Analityczna, 39(3), 1994, pp. 347-354
Third-order derivative spectrophotometry was used for the simultaneous
determination of Pd(II) and Pt(IV). Optimum conditions for the format
ion of their iodide complexes in the presence of Ir, Rh, Os, Cu, Bi, S
b and Fe were established [pH 4.5, 4 % potassium iodide and 20 % (V/V)
ethanol]. Derivative values for Pd(II) and Pt(IV) were measured at 46
8 nm and 488 nm, respectively. The proposed method allows simultaneous
determination of up to 30 mug of Pd and 30 mug of Pt in mixtures with
good sensitivity and selectivity.
