Abstract
The DELTA(chi) effect on the miscibility of polymer blends prepared by solution-casting has been investigated using the mixture of poly(meth yl methacrylate)(PMMA) with poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc). The PMMA/PVAc b lends have been prepared by casting from eleven different solutions. T he DELTA(chi) effect of the solution-cast PMMA/PVAc blends was discuss ed in terms of Hansen's specified solubility parameters. It was found that the miscibility of the blends could be defined mainly by the solu bility parameter contributed by the hydrogen-bonding of a solvent.
