Y. Elsworth et al., HIGH-RESOLUTION SPECTROGRAPHY OF HYDROXYL IN THE NIGHT AIRGLOW, Journal of atmospheric and solar-terrestrial physics, 59(1), 1997, pp. 117-124
A new type of airglow spectrograph has been used to observe the spectr
um of the night airglow. ft has proved possible to resolve the 5-0, 6-
1, 7-1, 8-2, 9-2 and 9-3 bands of OH into individual lines with a disp
ersion of 0.45 Angstrom per pixel (corresponding to a reserving power
of approximately 5000-10,000) and to measure their individual waveleng
ths to an accuracy of between 0.1 Angstrom and 0.2 Angstrom. The metho
ds used for data reduction are described and comparisons with theory a
nd previous observations are given. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Scienc
