Nm. Rotanova et al., FEATURES OF THE MAGNETIC-FIELD OF THE EQUATORIAL ELECTROJET DETERMINED FROM EXPERIMENTAL-DATA FOR THE SOUTH-EASTERN ASIA REGION, Journal of atmospheric and solar-terrestrial physics, 59(5), 1997, pp. 527-535
Experimental data, obtained in Vietnam, have been used for studying th
e solar-diurnal variations of the magnetic field in the equatorial ele
ctrojet region and for comparing them with the worldwide part of S-q-v
ariations. The features of equatorial electrojet variations were inves
tigated at different stages, from their appearance in the morning, to
their decline in the evening and their disappearance at night. The cha
racter of dip equatorial variations on days of a reverse jet electric
current is considered. It is shown that eastward electrojet currents i
n the daytime ionosphere gradually decay far into the night. The quest
ion of a shift of the electrojet axis during the day is examined. (C)
