Pv. Perkins, MATHEMATICAL-MODELING OF SOIL BORON CONCENTRATION UNDER FIELD MOISTURE CONDITIONS USING THE LANGMUIR AND FREUNDLICH ADSORPTION-ISOTHERMS, Communications in soil science and plant analysis, 25(15-16), 1994, pp. 2649-2664
Equations were developed that enabled the boron concentration at any s
oil moisture content to be calculated from measured boron concentratio
ns and water contents of a saturated water extract, the bulk density a
nd the measured coefficients defining the Langmuir and Freundlich boro
n adoption isotherms. The concentration-adsorption-moisture equations
(CAM equations) have been tested against experiment data for three soi
ls and two minespoils over a range of moisture oonditions. Also the CA
M equations were used to predict potential boron phytotoxicity problem
s associated with the amelioration of acidic minespoils with pulverise
d fuel ash.
