Abstract
In a greenhouse experiment, the effects of adding zinc (Zn) and iron ( Fe) as either their basic salts or as commercial chelates were compare d for the production of lettuce. The basic salts were found to be as e ffective as the chelates in providing Zn and Fe as well as being more environmentally safe.
