Some derivatives of 4-chloro-2-(phenyl or 4-chlorophenyl)-1,3-quinazol
ine have been prepared by treating the respective 4(3H) quinazolinone
derivatives with POCl3/PCl5. The products were allowed to react with a
nthranilic, 5-chloro and 3,5-dichloroanthranilic acid to give new quin
azolino [4, 3b] quinazolin-8-ones. On the other hand, the 4-chloro-1,3
-quinazoline derivatives when reacted with NaN3, afforded s-tetrazolo
[4,3 c] quinazoline derivatives. These compounds were tested as antifu
ngal and antibacterial agents.
