Polyurethane cationomers with dibenzylic structure on polymer chain we
re synthesized, using N-methyldiethanolamine as chain extender and qua
ternization of tertiary nitrogen atoms with 1,4-xylylenedichloride or
oxalic acid. Polymer films properties placed these polymers between po
lyurethane elastomers. Ionomer dispersions with variable stability in
time are formed by water addition to polymer solutions.
