Yg. Agalakov et al., POLYCRYSTALLINE FIBERS BASED ON SILVER-HALIDES FOR THE TRANSMISSION OF HIGH-POWER CO2-LASER RADIATION, Journal of optical technology, 61(7), 1994, pp. 499-500
The radiation stability, output-radiation divergence, and loss level a
re studied for silver halide optical fibers as a function of the input
conditions, the bend radius, and the processing quality of the ends.
It is shown that, under optimal conditions, up to 50 W of radiation fr
om a cw CO2 laser can be transmitted through the fiber, with a radiati
on divergence of < 10-degrees after the fiber.
