Eb. Sveshnikova et Av. Kazannikova, STANDARD SAMPLE BASED ON EU(3+) IN PMMA FOR WAVELENGTH CALIBRATION AND MONITORING THE STABILITY OF THE ENERGY PARAMETERS OF SPECTROFLUOROMETERS, Journal of optical technology, 61(7), 1994, pp. 529-532
A luminescence standard based on Eu (NO3)3 . 3TBF in polymethyl methac
rylate (TBF is tributyl phosphate) is proposed. Its luminescence spect
ra, luminescence excitation spectra, and absorption spectra are measur
ed in the temperature region 77-323 K. At 20-degrees-C, the spectrum o
f the standard has Stark components whose halfwidth is 0.26 nm, making
it possible to wavelength-calibrate a spectrofluorimeter in the 317.8
-812-nm region with an accuracy of 0. 1-0. 2 nm. The large number of b
ands in the Eu3+ luminescence excitation spectrum and the thermal and
temporal stability of the sample, as well as its photostability in the
lambda > 3 1 0-nm region, makes it possible to successfully use the s
tandard to monitor the energy parameters of spectrofluorimeters.
