Gn. Aleksandrov et Ga. Yevdokunin, THE USE OF SUSPENDED METAL-OXIDE ARRESTERS FOR PHASE-TO-EARTH AND PHASE-TO-PHASE OVERVOLTAGES, ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY, (1), 1994, pp. 13-23
Very light and mechanically strong metal oxide arresters in polymer ho
usings can be suspended directly from line conductors, for example und
er the supporting string insulator. In this case it is possible to lim
it both phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase overvoltages. Analysis of t
he currents through phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase arresters of va
rious types of commutation has made it possible to establish the optim
um relation between the number of phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase a
rresters on the basis of the need for equal limitation of the phase-to
-ground and phase-to-phase overvoltages.
