Av. Orlov et Vs. Petukhov, DETERMINATION OF CLOUD ELECTRICAL STRUCTURE BY THE SINGLE-VALUE DECOMPOSITION METHOD, ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY, (1), 1994, pp. 81-89
The problem of determining the electrical structure of clouds is consi
dered. This is an inverse task because it requires an evaluation of th
e electrical charge distribution in the cloud as well as the charge bo
undaries. The problem is solved on the basis of a model with the essen
tial characteristics of a real electrified cloud. A space model of a c
loud with vertical charge distribution is used. An analysis of differe
nt methods of solution and their influence on errors is given. It is s
hown that the single-value decomposition method is the most effective.
This method makes it possible to analyse the limits of specification
of the electrical structure of a cloud with the aid of the model adopt
ed.
