Abstract
This paper gives the simple analytical condition for calculating the f ield forcing coefficient in a two-zone dc. drive, obtained on the basi s of an analysis of field weakening and strengthening processes. The r equired field forcing coefficient depends on two generalized factors: the ratio of the electromagnetic time constant to the base (mechanical ) time constant and the equivalent regarding torque. When it is imposs ible to obtain this coefficient, the reduction in quick-response is ev aluated. In this case the increase in the duration of transient proces ses with field strengthening may be equal to three base time constants .
