This paper considers the theory and methods of computer studies of unb
alanced transient conditions in autonomous power systems with current-
limiting devices. Features of the mathematical model allowing for unba
lanced conditions in the current limiting process are described. The m
odel is based on new methods for transformation and solution of node v
oltage equations and also on the proposed methods for allowing for the
effect of current limiting devices (CLD). Some principles of rational
simulation of an arbitrary structure and efficient algorithmization o
f processes with due account of the phase equation of a circuit contai
ning a CLD are substantiated. Some validated forms of special software
for modelling autonomous power systems with an arbitrary structure ar
e presented.
