Abstract
Nine obese children were referred to our liver disease unit because of asymptomatic, long-standing (range, 4 to 49 months) hyperaminotrgnsfe rasemia of unknown origin. Ultrasonography showed a ''bright'' liver i n most patients. A hypocaloric diet was prescribed, and the hepatic ab normalities of the compliant patients showed a prompt and persistent i mprovement that paralleled the loss of excess weight.
