Abstract
Sustained alkalosis transforms epithelial cells in culture. Genotypica lly altered cells express an endogenous Ca2+ oscillator that probably is the motor for restless locomotion of these cells. Atomic force micr oscopy discloses membrane turnover processes during cell migration at the nanometer level.
