A REVISION OF THE GENERA OF THE WORLD ICHNEUTINAE (HYMENOPTERA, BRACONIDAE)

The genera of the subfamily Ichneutinae are revized using cladistic me thods. The following new genera are proposed: Hebichneutes, Helconichi a, Masonbeckia and Muesonia. The following new synonymies are proposed : Ciliosa Mason and Pulchaukia Mason as junior subjective synonyms of Oligoneurus Szepligeti; Muesebeckia Mason and Anaprixia Mason are juni or subjective synonyms of Paroligoneurus Muesebeck; Ichneutidea Ashmea d and Proteropoides Viereck as junior subjective synonyms of Proterops . The subgenus Proterops is proposed for those species of Proterops fo rmerly restricted to the genus Proterops auct. and all other species o f the genus Proterops, which were formerly placed in Ichneutidea, are considered incertae sedis in the genus Proterops. Sixteen new species are described, i.e. Hebichneutes (4 species), Helconichia (3), Masonbe ckia (6) and Muesonia (3). Keys to the world genera and to all of the newly described species are included. Cladistic relationships among th e world genera and among the newly described species are discussed.
