The trigger electronics of a station including six types of linked uni
ts operating as independent programmable logical devices are described
. The system generates signals for event selection from a scintillator
and Cherenkov (threshold and differential) beam counters and may be c
onnected to a second-level trigger. It also generates Busy signals fro
m the various sections of the data acquisition system, which are neede
d in order to synchronize them. The system provides the maximum possib
le bandwidth for input signals, combines permanent cable links with lo
gical versatility, includes intermediate connections for monitoring it
s operation, and minimizes the signal delay time.
