The method of energy and angle-resolved electron-electron coincidences
has been applied to measure for the first time the triple differentia
l cross section (TDCS) for double photoionization in helium for unequa
l energy sharing of the two electrons (E2 = 9.6E1) and using completel
y linearly polarized light. Compared to the caw of equal energy sharin
g, the symmetry constraints for the shape of the ma am much less rigor
ous, and this makes it a more sensitive test case for theoretical trea
tments. Excellent agreement is found with theory.
