Abstract
It was found that N-acyl derivatives of 2-cyanomethylbenzimidazole(2) may form fused heterocyclic systems and, through 1-3 migration of acyl groups into more thermodynamically stable C-acyl derivatives (3), rin g assembled systems. A migration of acyl groups in reverse direction i n C-acyl derivatives (3) was observed.
