Abstract
Cellular automata (CA) rules for a model surface reaction with Eley-Ri deal step (exemplifying CO oxidation) have been formulated. The CA sim ulations corroborate the earlier known Monte Carlo (MC) simulation res ults and show qualitative and near quantitative resemblance. The resul ts are analyzed and discussed in the light of MC and mean field soluti ons.
