Abstract
In the study of the electronic structure of iron-scandium clusters (Fe (n)Sc(m) with n = m greater-than-or-equal-to 1), an argon gas matrix i solation technique ((Fe-Sc)/Ar) was employed in conjuction with Mossba uer spectroscopy and molecular orbital method. Various transition-meta l molecule clusters in Fe(n)Sc(m) isolated in the argon matrix were id entified using metal concentration dependence studies at low temperatu re (TK). Using krypton gas matrix isolation, (Fe-Sc)/Kr, at a metal co ncentration of 1.08 at.% and low temperatures, the electronic structur e of the same metal molecules also was studied.
