Abstract
Long-term Pu-239, Pu-240 excretion in the urine was studied in 130 'Ma yak' radiochemical plant workers with different levels of health impai rment. The study was based on a comparison of the Pu-239, Pu-240 excre tion rate measurements with the postmortem findings of Pu-239, Pu-240 body content estimates at long times after the intake. The following m odel is suggested for describing the urinary Pu-239, Pu-240 content, c u, in a healthy human at t days after a blood intake of q(os) units of Pu-239, Pu-240. epsilon(u) = q(os) x 10(-4) [41exp(-0.56t) + 12exp(-0 .126t) + + 1.3exp(-0.0165t) + 0.3exp(-0.00231t) + 0.13exp(-0.00002t)] The equation provides a conservative estimate based on urinalysis in d osimetric monitoring of nuclide uptake.
