Abstract
The gastrointestinal absorption of Am-241 was studied in relation to t he amount of sodium citrate administered with it. Fasted Wistar strain female rats received Am-241 orally in sodium citrate solution of vari ous concentrations and 5 days after administration animals were sacrif iced and the retention and distribution of Am-241 was studied. The res ults indicated that the f1 value was very high at about 10% of adminis tered activity when Am-241 was given to fasted rats with a large amoun t of sodium citrate.
