V. Kale et al., KINETICS OF REACTION OF C-36 DIMER ACIDS WITH DIETHYLENETRIAMINE AND TRIETHYLENETETRAMINE FOR REACTIVE POLYAMIDES, Journal of applied polymer science, 53(6), 1994, pp. 807-814
Kinetic studies were carried out on the reaction between C36 dimer aci
ds and diethylene-triamine (DETA) and triethylenetetramine (TETA) in m
elt phase. The reactions were performed at temperatures in the range o
f 145-degrees to 190-degrees-C and followed by determination of the ac
id and amine values of the intermittent products. The polyamidation re
actions of C36 dimer acids and DETA and TETA followed overall second-o
rder kinetics and had activation energies of 14.4 kcal/g mol and 12.3
kcal/g mol, respectively. (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
