A. Schade et O. Distl, THEBIS - A VETERINARY HERD HEALTH AND INF ORMATION-SYSTEM .2. DATA PREPARATION IN ACTION LISTS AND ON RECORD CARDS, Praktische Tierarzt, 75(8), 1994, pp. 680
The computerized veterinary herd management and information system THE
BIS provides information retrieval as individual animal filing cards,
action lists for the farmer and veterinarian as well as extensive poss
ibilities for data analysis. The action lists serve on the one hand as
reminders for certain activities, examinations and treatments, on the
other hand they indicate if thresholds for disease incidences or prod
uction parameters are exceeded. Action lists especially support the co
ntrol of fertility, health of calves and their feed intake, milk produ
ction and development of weight in cows. The individual animal filing
cards give detailed information on all data collected from the animal.
THEBIS creates individual animal filing cards for veterinary fertilit
y and breeding data. A survey filing card for the individual animal ca
n be retrieved by THEBIS which contains all key information from all s
ources in a condensed form. Also the most important information for dr
ugs can be displayed on a card-rile.
