Abstract
It has been 15 years since AID made its first appearance in North Amer ica, probably longer worldwide. In that time, our knowledge of the epi demiology of AIDS has grown and changed. This review highlights signif icant aspects of the epidemic with particular emphasis on the evolutio n of this disease in North America.
