Abstract
Trans-thoracic electro-cautery (TTEC) is now regarded as the treatment of choice for hyperhidrosis. The complication rate is low, and many o f these are preventable. Consequently, we have adapted our own techniq ue, which we now report along with the results of our first 30 cases. In particular, we would emphasize insertion of the cannula by blunt di ssection and the performance of a trans-thoracic sympathectomy instead of simply electro-cautery.
