Abstract
In this study, the total beta-activities in the front leg bones of she ep originated from different regions of Turkey and at various ages wer e determined. In addition, the relationship between Sr-90 and total be ta-activity in the same bone-ash was investigated. It was shown that t he total beta-activity strongly depends on the age of the sheep as wel l as on its origin. The beta-activity level is maximum at one year old and decreases rapidly with age. After the 3rd or 4th year it reaches almost a constant value.
