A NEW APPROACH FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF SOME BENZOXAZINONE AND QUINAZOLINONE DERIVATIVES

Arylidene benzolypropionamide (II) and the benzoxazinone derivative be aring bulky substituents at position-2 (III) were prepared by the cond ensation of the furanone (I) with anthranilic acid. The reactions of t he benzoxazinone (III) with hydrazines, aliphatic and aromatic amines, ammonia, Grignard reagents and aromatic hydrocarbons are described. T he structures assigned were supported by IR and H-1-NMR spectra. The b iological activities of some compounds cited in this article are repor ted.
