This short note reports the preparation and absorption spectra of Nd3 doped B2O3-Ba-TeO2-RF (RF=LiF, NaF and KF) glasses. Both physical and
optical properties such as energy level structure bonding, oscillator
strength and radiative lifetimes have been computed and the effects o
f the change in the alkali cations (Li, Na and K) in the glass chemica
l composition were verified.
