C. Luca et al., STUDY OF COMPLEX-FORMING PROCESSES BETWEEN IODINE AND CROWN-ETHERS IN2-PHASE SYSTEMS, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 39(3), 1994, pp. 297-305
The study of complex-formation between iodine and crown ethers (CE) in
two-phase systems (water containing I2 + KI and dichloroethane contai
ning CE 12-C-4, 15-C-5, 18-C-6, B-15-C-5, DB-18-C-6, 4'-NO2-B-15-C-5)
has led to the following conclusions: (i) charge-transfer complexes wh
ich contain the l3(-) anion species are formed in the organic phase; (
ii) the combination ratios and equilibrium constants of these complexe
s depend on the type of CE present in the organic phase.
