Ni. Kolev, THE CODE IVA-4 - MODELING OF MASS CONSERVATION IN MULTIPHASE MULTICOMPONENT FLOWS IN HETEROGENEOUS POROUS-MEDIA, Kerntechnik, 59(4-5), 1994, pp. 226-237
The modeling of two-phase flows in heterogeneous porous media, as firs
t proposed by Sha, Chao and Soo, is, with some modifications, used to
derive mass conservation equations for multi-phase flows conditionally
divided into three velocity fields. In addition, the method is extend
ed by including the concept of dynamic particle fragmentation and coal
escence. The link between mass source terms and the change of bubble o
r droplet size due to evaporation or condensation is presented for loc
al volume and time averaged source terms. The concept of monodispersit
y is discussed, and a method is proposed to compute the disappearance
of particles due to evaporation and condensation.
