This paper deals with the structural study of Zr(Cr1-xFex)2Dy (0.4 < x
< 0.75; 2 < y < 3) deuterides. In this range, intermetallic and deute
ride compounds crystallize in the C14 structure of the MgZn2 type. By
means of a neutron diffraction analysis, the distribution of iron on t
he chromium sublattice and the localization of D atoms have been deter
mined. Results are discussed in terms of nature and size of D sites, w
hich are used to explain the capacity changes observed in this system
as a function of iron concentration.
