Abstract
A convergent synthesis of aryl ester dendrimers with flexible spacer u nits via a series of 'dendron wedges' of increasing size is described. The development of a high yield iterative protection/deprotection sch eme for phenolic groups as acetates, in the presence of aryl esters, e nables dendrimers to be assembled using this approach.
