Abstract
The giant magnetoresistance effect has been investigated for Ni14Fe13C o73/Cu multilayers prepared by the rf magnetron sputtering method, whe re the NiFeCo alloy has a saturation magnetostriction constant as smal l as 1 x 10(-6). A magnetoresistance ratio of 22% is obtained at room temperature for a Cu thickness of 2.1 nm. About 80% of the magnetoresi stance change occurs in the range of magnetic fields within 50 Oe.
