The axial vector contribution to the plasma neutrino energy-loss rate
for strongly degenerate electrons is calculated by using the accurate
dispersion relation for the transverse plasmon which is valid for rela
tivistically degenerate electrons. Comparison is made with previous ca
lculations. It is found that the axial vector contribution to the plas
ma neutrino energy-loss rate is at most on the order of 10(-4) of the
vector contribution for strongly degenerate electrons, which is about
10(-2) of the value recently reported by Braaten
