Abstract
Whereas the MRT appearances of aseptic necrosis in various localisatio ns, particularly the hip, are well described (5,8,9) there are only a few publications in the literature concerning Ahlback's disease (2, 3) . The present case has shown that MRT, using a T1-weighted dynamic ser ial gradient echo sequence with bolus injection of contrast, provides useful information for the early diagnosis of this condition. By using Gd-DTPA it is possible to evaluate the viability and vascularity of t he affected bone.
