RELATIVISTIC AND ULTRARELATIVISTIC HEAVY-ION COLLISIONS - THEORETICALASPECTS

After having identified three energy domains with their characteristic dynamics, the following items are reviewed for each of these domains: the present theoretical knowledge of the relevant static properties o f dense matter, the actual status of transport theories, the study of possible direct signals from dense matter and some open problems.
