PHOTOELECTRON-SPECTROSCOPY OF ALS- DIATOMIC ANION

Photoelectron spectra of A1S(-) radical were measured using a magnetic bottle electron spectrometer. Electron affinity of AIS was determined to be 2.60(3) eV, and a new electronic excited state, A'(2) Pi, was f ound 0.4 eV above the A1S ground state, which is consistent with theor etical calculations.
